To sleep or not to sleep.......

Justin has been having a hard time sleeping. Now, I can't sleep. Well, I can sleep, but I keep getting woken up throughout the night. We have finally decided that enough is enough! We went to the Select Comfort store at the Fashion Place Mall on Saturday to try out the Sleep Number bed. Turns out that we have completely different ideas of what level of firmness feels good, Justin 90, Krista 35....not even close. No wonder the bed I love to sleep on is completely miserable for him.
At this point, I am just trying to do my homework and research this bed. It's a very large investment for us and I want to make sure that we don't buy a terribly expensive bed and not be satisfied.
My boss has one and he loves it. I have had a few other people agree that it's a great bed.
If anyone has heard good or bad things about this bed, please share!

Brine Shrimp Fishin'

Last weekend we went over by the Great Saltair to some small ponds on the other side of the lake to get some brine shrimp. However, we were not prepared for the job (getting in the water). We observed other people collecting brine shrimp, they had rubber boots. BRILLIANT! Something to remember for next time. Justin decided that he was not leaving empty handed. He rolled up his pants and got right in. Here are some pictures of our little adventure.........

Justin fishin'

I guess I should mention that Justin feeds brine shrimp to his fish. They love it and it's kind of fun to see them alive. He mostly gets frozen brine shrimp cubes, so this was a real treat for the fishies.

Easter 2009

The only picture that turned out from Easter....
Thanks for the pictures Natalie!

Easter came and went so fast. It was pretty uneventful at our house. We have a nice dinner with just the 3 of us. Kenlee got spoiled with too much candy and other goodies, as usual. Now I am feeling bad that it was so boring. I think that when I was little, what made Easter fun was trading candy with my siblings. Kenlee doesn't have that and no one is fighting for her candy...
On another note....I am horrible. I just looked through my camera and I have NO good Easter pictures!!! If you have any of my family, please send them to me!

I hope all of you had an enjoyable holiday!

I need MOTIVATION!!

I am really needing motivation right now. Since my weight loss competition, I have lost 2 more pounds for a total of 14. I am really scared that I might just gain it all back! I feel like I am not eating right and not excercising as much as I should. I know what I need to do and need help doing it. All the people that I work with are "OFF" the diet and that's bad for me! I need that competition to drive me to do better.
I am buying a journal today and I will keep track of my weight, measurements, mood and food intake. Hopefully this will help keep me focused. My new goal is for my anniversary, May 5th, to reach my goal weight. I have about 7 more pounds to lose! Can I do it? I hope so!!!

Sugar Cookies

Yesterday I decided to make sugar cookies for Easter. Everyone at my work loves them and begs me to make them. They are almost as good as my snickerdoodles. Here is the recipe if anyone that wants to try it.........
Soft Sugar Cookies

Cream together:
2 C Sugar
1 C butter

Add:
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 C sour cream

Mix and add:
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 C flour

Add:
2 1/2 to 3 cups flour until dough is stiff

Refrigerate for 2 + hours

Roll on floured surface and add flour as needed (so it's not too sticky). Make about the thickness of your little finger. Cut out with cookie cutters (bigger cookie cutters work better).

Bake 350 degrees for 12-14 minutes (do not overcook).

Remove immediately from cookie sheet to cool on wire rack. When completely cooled, frost with cream cheese frosting and decorate as desired.

Note: I use a lot of parchment paper. I use it on my cookie sheets and in between layers of cookies so that the frosting doesn't smear.

Yet another.....NEW Hobby

Justin and I have been talking about going to the gun range for quite some time. Last Saturday, he took me down to Doug's Shoot-n-Sports. I got to try quite a few different brands and calibers of guns.....I decided that I liked the glock the best. And guess what....Justin let me buy one! See below........
Glock model 27 .40cal

I should mention that we have been talking about getting me a gun for a while and have been looking at other gun stores, this was not a spur of the moment type of decision. Once I really got to do some shooting.....I was hooked! We are taking the Concealed Weapons Permit class next week, taught by a friend of Justin's. Safety is very important to us and I would like to find a class for Kenlee to take that is for children and gun safety. So, if anyone knows of that sort of thing, let me know!
