GUNS -n- stuff

I know not everybody "loves" or even likes guns....but we do!
We are firm believers in the 2nd Amendment:
"A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."
I am fascinated with them. I want a handgun in every size and color (like I want my shoes). We try to go to the range a much as possible. The problem we were having was the expense of the ammo...if you could find it! Justin has recently started reloading ammo for my gun (.40 cal) and will also be reloading the ammo for his gun (.45 cal). At first, the cost is high to get all the equipment to be set up for reloading, but after that initial investment, it will be tons cheaper for us to reload our own ammo.

Justin has been selling a lot of his fish/aquarium inventory on KSL. All but one tank are going. Its bittersweet for him. He really enjoyed it, but decided its time to move on to "new" things.

Kenlee is going off track from school for 3 weeks and is super excited about that. While she is off track, her teacher will be having a baby! She is sad about her teacher going on maternity leave, she really like having her as a teacher. Kenlee continues to grow...slowly. Her doctor had me take her in for a bone age, the procedure is an x-ray of her wrist to see at what rate her bones are growing. When the doctor called me with the results I was a little worried, her bones show her at 8 years and 10 months....she's 11 years and 3 months old. Her doctor assured me that this was good news. She says that when other kids are finished growing, Kenlee will have a couple more years. so...YAY!

My diet isn't going well. I haven't lost an ounce. I can't seem to get motivated by myself. I hope that this next week I can get my butt in gear and get back on track. I know I have it in me, I just need to snap out of my slump!

Consider yourself updated!!

My Weight Loss Journey

On Monday I started a new diet/exercise plan. I decided that what I did last time worked, so I will try it again. Here's my plan....
Do at least 30 minutes of intense exercise a day and eat around 1500 calories a day.
That's it! It's simple and I know it works.

Last year, in January, I participated in a "Biggest Loser" type weight loss competition with my co-workers that lasted 12 weeks. My starting weight was 147 pounds (which was about 5 pounds less than what I weighed a year before). It felt horrible and disgusting. There's something about getting on a scale in front of other people that makes you have to "face the fat". It was great to be surrounded by other people that were involved, it helped to push me to do better. By the end of the competition my weight was 134, I lost only 13 pounds or 8.8% percent. I continued exercising and trying to eat right.
By September, I weighed 129. I decided to do another little competition with only one co-worker. I couldn't seem to lose that last little bit of weight by myself. I needed the competition/motivation to push me. It worked and by the end of October, I weighed 122 pounds......I haven't weighed that for probably 6 or 7 years. I had lost 25 pounds total!!!!

This is my before and after photo. (How embarrassing is that!)

Then December came......I GAINED 6 POUNDS in one month. Granted, I didn't exercise and I ate everything in sight.

Now its time to start again. My goal is to be 115 pounds (my ultimate goal) by Feb. 26th.
My starting weight (this morning) is 126 pounds. I have a little over 6 weeks to do it in. I know I can do it, but having a support system and lots of encouragement is absolutely necessary to reach your goal.

p.s. I am horrified that I have listed my weight on here. I just felt like doing that would make me more accountable and help me to succeed. I am already regretting it.

New Year 2010

I am so excited for the new year! This year is sure to be challenging and I hope it will be just as rewarding for us. I thought I would write down my New Years Resolutions.....

*Lose weight and exercise more (like always)
*Stop spending money on crap
*Be a better Mom
*Print pictures that have been on my computer forever and put them in albums
*Make a plan for the future
*Make my house the best place on earth for my family!

I have a lot of work to do! Happy New Year Everybody!

Here's a little thought....
