Making Sweets with my Mom

I took last Tuesday off work to stay home and make treats with my mom. It was so much fun! My Dad washed dishes as we dirtied them.
We (my mom) made 5 different kinds of fudge: White Chocolate candy cane, chocolate, chocolate walnut, peanut butter and Rocky Road. I made 3 different kinds of caramels: Plain, pecan and RASPBERRY! Then I made about a million sugar cookies and Toffee(which I re-made over the weekend and it turned out much better than the first attempt). Then we wrapped them up and delivered them to my neighbors! I sure hope they enjoyed them!

The finished Sweets!

Kitty loves Christmas!

Christmas is our kitty's favorite! She's been a spastic, crazy freak cat! She loves all the lights, bells, garland. She's so cute, if you don't think so then we can't be friends anymore...j/k, but really...don't hate!

Just another cute picture. She sleeps right on our cable box because it's nice and warm.....and probably full of cat hair!

Thanksgiving 2011

Thanksgiving came and went....almost a month ago! Sheesh, I'm bad at updating this blog.
This year I got to do Thanksgiving with my parents. We also had over, Ken (Justin's Dad) and Ann, My aunt, uncle and 2 second cousins that were in town for the holiday. It was a nice and peaceful day. All the food turned out fantastic! I was so grateful to have my mother with me to help with the cooking, she did so much! I think my Mom and I work really well in the kitchen together. This was the first year that I have tackled the entire meal and I was surprised at how smooth it went.

I have so much to be thankful for this year.

Note- the only pictures I had were taken from my cell and did not turn out well. They were so bad that I'm sure the people in them will appreciate me NOT posting them.

Lyrics for YOU

This song really says what I want to say today:

"Everything" by Alanis Morissette

I can be an asshole of the grandest kind
I can withhold like it's going out of style
I can be the moodiest baby and you've never met anyone
Who is as negative as I am sometimes

I am the wisest woman you've ever met.
I am the kindest soul with whom you've connected.
I have the bravest heart that you've ever seen
And you've never met anyone
Who's as positive as I am sometimes.

You see everything, you see every part
You see all my light and you love my dark
You dig everything of which I'm ashamed
There's not anything to which you can't relate
And you're still here

I blame everyone else, not my own partaking
My passive-aggressiveness can be devastating
I'm terrified and mistrusting
And you've never met anyone as,
As closed down as I am sometimes.

You see everything, you see every part
You see all my light and you love my dark
You dig everything of which I'm ashamed
There's not anything to which you can't relate
And you're still here

What I resist, persists, and speaks louder than I know
What I resist, you love, no matter how low or high I go

I'm the funniest woman that you've ever known
I'm the dullest woman that you've ever known
I'm the most gorgeous woman that you've ever known
And you've never met anyone
Who is as everything as I am sometimes

You see everything, you see every part
You see all my light and you love my dark
You dig everything of which I'm ashamed
There's not anything to which you can't relate
And you're still here

I love you!

Justin gets to go to St. Louis if they make it to the World Series....FOR FREE! He has a friend that has already bought plane tickets and tickets to the game for him(refundable)! How awesome is that! Good-Bye Dear Sam

A few weeks back we had to put our cat of almost 16 years down. He was the best cat EVER! It was a sad, sad day. Our house is so quiet now. Its amazing how a little cat can really make that much of a difference...but, he did. We will always remember him and his quirky personality. Rest in peace sweet kitty!

Here are some super cute pics of him. Kenlee loved him from the start!

Pretty pictures

My new phone has the best camera I have ever used. Here are some of the shots that I have taken with it.
These were from Rockport Res, Strawberry Res, and driving to and from those places. Enjoy!

7th grader

On August 29th Kenlee started 7th grade! She goes to the middle school just a couple blocks from our house! You can actually see it from our backyard. It's huge!
She has had some ups and downs, stress and anxiety. All in all I think she's liking it....as much as a kid can like school anyway. She really enjoys the options at lunch and getting to pick whatever she wants. I like that too after having to make her lunches for years!
Of all her classes, keyboarding is stressing her out the most. I am not a very good typist so I can relate to that. Her Math book is online and so COOL! It has very helpful video tutorials.....Man could I have used that when I was in school!
Anyway, that's my update on her for now.

Boat Success!!!

We went up to Rockport Resevoir last weekend to test out the boat. After many trial and error's.....IT WORKED!!! We were so excited! We borrowed a tube from the neighbors and pulled Kenlee around the lake. On Sunday our neighbors came up to play. Their little boy joined Kenlee in the tube...they had a blast! It's just sad that it has taken all summer to get it going. Better late than never, I guess.

Camping with the Oborns

Went went camping with our neighbors, the Oborns, on my birthday. We just went for one day but we had a lot of fun! The little kids got to do some target practice with the .22 rifle and we went to the Upper Provo River Falls....Have you been there? It is gorgeous!!! Here are some pics of our little silly adventure!

Notice the bandana Kenlee is wearing. Her Dad bought it for her at the Army-Navy Surplus store and it has machine guns on it. LOL!

How does your garden grow...

We made a garden. My father-in-law, Ken helped us add a "special" ingredient to the soil earlier this spring. We planted everything that we thought we would ever want to eat. The seeds started sprouting, then it rained and rained and rained. Our garden was trashed. Then, we replanted.
I took these pictures on July 26th and I was pretty pleased with the way thing were growing. I need to add more pictures because this is NOTHING. Holy cow, it has tripled in size. We have vines everywhere! Our zucchini plant was taking over and Justin chopped off half of it. We have Basil, lettuce, cucumbers, green peppers, peas, onions, garlic, broccoli, watermelons and pumkpins. We have tomatoes too, tons of them...but I haven't seen a red one yet. :( I ♥ fresh garden tomatoes!!!
