Fitness Update!

I am feeling GREAT right now! I am 5 pounds away from my happy place. I will be there by my birthday......for sure!
I have been running and riding my elliptical all the time. My neighbor, Sarah, is my motivation
and inspiration....she's amazing in every way...I ♥ her! I ran 7.5 miles with her 3 weeks ago and that was the longest distance I have ever gone....it was AWESOME! I can run for 5 miles now without a problem and this is a great improvement for me. I almost feel like an athlete now! I have officially been signed up for the Las Vegas Ragnar Relay race in October! I am so scared and excited at the same time. PLUS...she's trying to convince me to do the Top of Utah 1/2 marathon in September. I just may do it! YAY for running!

Visiting/ Fishing with Grandpa Madsen & Sandy

We went up to Oakley to visit with Justin's Grandpa and Sandy this past weekend. Grandpa took Justin and Kenlee out fishing early on Saturday. They went to the Rockport Reservior. Kenlee had a good time and Justin got 2 (that he kept anyway) fish. I went out with them later in the day and we got another one. I actually got to reel it in...that's always exciting! Then they went out again on Sunday! We love being on the boat and Justin had a good time spending time with his Grandpa. Here are some of the pics..... Grandpa Madsen and Justin

Kenlee is super thrilled in the pic
Feel the love :)
This is actually how she looks most of the time unless I made her smile...such a Grumpy Gus
See...so much cuter when she smiles

Time with Dad

On Saturday we got to spend some time with Justin's dad, Ken. We went shooting out by Utah Lake again. Ken helped Justin sight in a couple of his new guns. Target practice seems to be one of our favorite past times lately. Justin is very passionate about his guns and has a pretty nice collection. Here are a few photos.... Justin and Ken with the AR15

Kenlee with Grandpa This is Kenlee posing with her "kill" (she actually shot from the table, quite a bit farther away). She filled her rootbeer bottle with water and duct taped the middle. It took her a few shots, but she got the top of the bottle and then the bottom...in less than 10 shots! Good job!
Justin's friend, Richard, came out and joined us after a while.
I'm glad Justin got to spend some quality time with his Dad. They even went to dinner.

Father's Day is always special to me. I don't even remember the last Father's Day I got to spend with my Dad. I'm a daddy's girl forever, no matter how old I get. I love and miss my Dad so much. Good news though, both my Mom and Dad get to come visit at the end of summer and stay for weeks......maybe a month! Can't wait!
I am grateful for my father-in-law too. He has always made me feel like an important part of the family. He has helped us out so much with projects we have had from time to time. His wide variety of skills sure are handy!

Happy Father's Day to our Fathers and yours!

Savings Account!

For the first time in my life, I have a savings account! Actually, I have to share it with Justin...but that's ok because he can put money in it too!
We have always "saved" our money in stashed cash, now we have an actual account! YIPPEE! Its a GOOD day :)))
Speaking of money.........we just got Justin's bill from the hospital for the kidney stone episode....$5600.00...YIKES!! $3200 for a CT scan, holy cow!

New Hair, New Attitude!

I'm a blonde! Watch out!
On Saturday I got my hair done! I went to Felicia, Justin's cousin. I think she did a great job! If you want her contact info, let me know!

Happy 39th Anniversary

My parents just celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary!
Congratulations to them!
They were MFEO (made for each other). Although their personalities are completely different, they make it work. They have so much love for each other. It is their example of love that I strive for in my marriage.
They are great parents and AWESOME grandparents! Their world is their family and I am so grateful they put in the effort and sacrificed so much for us over the years.
Here's to many, many more years and memories to come!

Little Things

Every time I see a Dr. Pepper can in the living room or bathroom or sitting on the counter, I will remind myself.....when I throw the garbage outside the kitchen door to the bottom of the steps in the garage (almost every day), it always magically disappears!

Rough start to our Friday

Justin got a kidney stone this morning, his first and hopefully last. I rushed him to Jordan Valley's ER. I have never seen him is so much pain....ever! He didn't even seem to care when the nurse gave him the IV....he absolutely hates needles! He was able to pass it in less than 2 hours (I'm sure it felt like an eternity). By the time they did a CT scan to verify it was a stone, it was already in the bladder, yay! I have to give props to the nurse, Rachel, at the Jordan Valley Hosp. ER....she was magnificent! Should be good as new by Saturday!

I found these pictures online. I was curious what they looked like.....

OUCH! I cannot imagine!
