Sleep Number Bed

We finally got our Sleep Number bed! Actually, we have had it for about a week now. I think it has a problem already. My side of the bed keeps changing on me. I'll set it to 35, then in the middle of the night it'll be 55 and then in the morning when I get out it'll be at 10. Meanwhile, Justin's side seems to be maintaining his number just fine. I am going to call them but their hours are 8-6 Mon-Fri. I would call them during the day but, I want to be at home in case they want me to try something on the bed while on the phone.  Fun, fun!
Our A/C was fixed last Wednesday as well,  $110 later and a wire reconnected and we're back to civilization!
All of this was accomplished last week when I took Wednesday off. I wish I could have one day a week off work, that would be fabulous! I got so much done being home all by myself. The house was clean and the laundry was done. I even had dinner ready when Justin got home. Maybe someday........

I'm Melting!!!

****OUR A/C IS BROKEN***!!!!!!!***Noooooooo***!!!!!
Yesterday was the hottest day of the year, so far........about 90 degrees I think! We turned on the A/C before leaving for work Monday morning, hoping to come home to a nice cool house later. When we got home......79 degrees was what it said on the thermostat. The A/C isn't working AT ALL!!!! Last night was one of the most horrible night's sleep (or should I say, NOT sleep) I have had in such a long time! I am such a baby, really...but I do have to say that Justin is just as bad, if not worse, than me. I am taking the day off work on Wednesday, so I can stay in my nice, warm, cozy house all day long, doesn't that sound fun??!? Actually, we are having our Sleep Number Bed delivered and the HVAC guy is fixing (hopefully) our A/C! I am really excited and really not excited at the same time, if that is even possible. We will just wait until Wednesday and try to survive this horrible experience!! (Too dramatic??)

Jarred's 20 Year Cancer Free Celebration

Justin's cousin, Jarred, was diagnosed with Leukemia when he was a teenager. On Saturday we attended his party celebrating 20 years cancer free! It was a great event, for a great guy! We had a BLAST hanging out with family that we usually only see a couple times a year.
This is Jarred, cancer survivor!
Kenlee with Cindy (Justin's aunt)

Later that night, we put on our dancing shoes!!
Cindy and Don showing us youngsters how it's done! Stacey and Brett had some moves of their own!
It was such a fun night!

Mother's Day 2009

Happy Mother's Day (yesterday) to all the FABULOUS Mothers out there! Here are some pictures from our Mother's Day dinner.......
Grandma gettting her gifts from grandchildren
I'm trying to get Kenlee to smile for once!

Ahhhh! So sweet!
Kenlee and her cousin Emma playing on the patio.
Steve, Asher, Liz and Josh playing on our boulders in the back yard.
I am so grateful for my mother. Although she might be a little crazy sometimes, that's just the way I like her. She is so giving and caring for all of her children and grandchildren. I would like to think that some of my cooking skills have been inherited from her, she's a great cook! I wish I could live near her and be able to celebrate this day with her, I guess she'll have to settle for a long distance hug! XOXO
Happy Mother's Day to my mother-in-law, Debbie, also! She is always so involved and willing to participate in our lives! I am amazed at the things she takes on and helps out with. She is a great example for us!

May Update

Mother's Day plans.....
Sunday we will be hosting Mother's Day dinner at our house. It has been a while since we have had family come out. I think the last time was Thanksgiving, almost 6 months ago. It can get hectic sometimes with the big crowd that is our family. I do enjoy doing it though. I guess it reminds me of the times my mother used to make big dinners, with enough food to feed an army.
Justin has been staying busy at work, thank goodness! My work has been really slow this month. I just hope with the warmer months ahead, things will pick up for us. We are just so grateful to have jobs right now when so many people we know are struggling.
She will be finishing up with 4th grade in the next month. She is really excited for the summer and to have some time off with NO homework! She is on the year-round school year and this year, A track. We have requested D track for the next school year and if she gets D track, she will have an extra long summer break. (This means a lot more $$$ for full time daycare)
Weight loss....
I have been trying to keep up with my fitness/weight-loss routine. So far I have lost a total of 18lbs and am only 4lbs from my goal weight. I am confident that I can reach my goal, it's just taking longer because I have really slowed down my exercise. I was working out every day, now I only work out 3-4 hours a week. Oh well, some is better than none!
That's all for now! Bye!

Happy 14th Anniversary to us!

Today is our 14th Anniversary! We were married May 5th, 1995.

This is our engagement picture, it was taken at Red Butte Gardens.

This is our wedding photo taken at "This is the Place" park, where we were married.

If you know us very well, you know the unusual circumstances surrounding our engagement and wedding. Looking back, it all seems a little crazy that we were married at such a young age, I was 16 and Justin was19. I'm not going to lie and say it was been like a fairy tale. We have had many struggles and trials. What I can say is, it has been worth it. I know that many people have had their doubts, at times, we have doubted ourselves, but we stuck it out and have never given up on each other. Justin has helped me to become strong and independent and he has supported me in so many ways. I feel that every year we grow stronger as a couple and I am so grateful for him.

So....here's to us and many, many more years to come!
